Maria Luisa Carvalho
Maria Luisa Carvalho, is full Professor at Physics Department of Faculty of Sciences and Technology, New University of Lisbon. Is Director of the Atomic and Molecular Laboratory. She was vice-President of X Ray Spectrometry Association (EXSA) and Member of the Pedagogic Council of Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon. She is member of the Editorial Board of X Ray Spectrometry. Her research is mainly in X- Ray Fluorescence spectrometry: New developments in devices and methods for trace elements research in bio-medical samples, in environmental impact of pollutants and analysis and imaging of objects of art and cultural heritage. She is author of over 250 international publications, 100 Invited lectures all over the world. Co-operation and research in common projects with national and international research institutions, organizer of over 20 International Conferences, Member of the International Committee of over 50 international conferences. She is member of the European Network for Chemical Elemental Analysis by Total Reflection X-Ray Fluorescence. She has been teaching Atomic Physics, Analytical Techniques and invited Professor for several times in Estadual University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Collaborator in several Postgraduation courses at Physics Department, namely: “Chemistry Applied to Cultural Heritage”; “Advanced Physics and Chemistry of Materials” and was Supervisor of over 20 PhD students.
