Maria Goreti R. Vale
Maria Goreti R. Vale, Ph.D. is Full Professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, member of the Advisory Committee on Chemistry of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) and the Management Committee of the National Institute of Energy and Environmental Sciences and Technology (INCT –E&A). She received a Master's Degree in Inorganic Analytical Chemistry from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro and PhD from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1997).
She is specialized in Analytical Chemistry, with emphasis on spectroanalytical chemistry, working mainly in Atomic Absorption Spectrometry - AAS (conventional AAS and high-resolution with continuum source HR-CS AAS) with direct analysis of solids, suspension and emulsion samplings. The research focuses on the development of analytical methods for the determination of trace elements (metals and nonmetals) in various types of geological, biological, food and industrial samples, airborne particulate filters and pharmaceuticals products.
