Érico M. M. Flores
Érico M. M. Flores has a permanent position at Federal University of Santa Maria/Brazil (since 1992) as a Titular Professor in analytical Chemistry field. He was the Director of Analytical Chemistry Division of Brazilian Chemical Society (2010-2012) and Scientific Director of Rio Grande do Sul State Research Foundation (2015-2018) and has experience in the development of methods for sample preparation, speciation analysis and quality control using atomic spectrometry and the use of microwaves and ultrasound for process intensification and control of industrial process. He published more than 300 papers, one book and many book chapters and patents. He is a representative member of several national and international committees (e.g., European Society of Sonochemistry/ESS, ICH, National Advisory Committee of Chemistry of Brazilian Council for Scientific and Technological Development/CNPq, 2014-2017, member (1999-2003) and coordinator (2011-2015) of Advisory Committee of Chemistry of FAPERGS). He developed a new system of microwave induced combustion that is commercialized in many countries, is a titular member of Deliberative Council of Brazilian Pharmacopoea, editor or member of scientific journals (Editorial Board of JAAS) and Vice-president of Analytical Chemistry Divison of IUPAC. He has more than 5000 citations and H-index of 37. More than 30 students have received the PhD and more than 40 have received the MS degree under his supervision.
